I hate having too many belongings but I constantly overpack for anything that requires me to leave my house for more than 24 hours. I also never bring what I actually need because most of my packing takes place 10 minutes before departure.

Last summer I went on a leisurely cross-country road trip and didn’t even think of packing until the morning we were leaving. I forgot deodorant. My travel buddy probably hated me because for the first few days I refused to buy more since mine was just “misplaced among my bags somewhere.”

I don’t know why I procrastinate this way. It’s something I really can’t help. Today, I whipped this little package together in 8 minutes before my ride to Palm Springs showed up. I don’t know if it’s too much stuff for 4 days, but I do know that I have 2 types of deodorant and no toothbrush, so it’s definitely still not the right stuff.
