A lot of my friends are super awesome, talented beings that are constantly creating great stuff. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by people who are inspiring and motivating, and I feel like I don’t share enough of that on here. I’m terrible at using tumblr in a timely manner so some of these projects are probably old news at this point, but I’m going to do my best to keep up with it from now on.

Chad Hartigan’s feature This is Martin Bonner needs some finishing funds so check out the link to see some of the footage - and throw him a buck if you can! I was the assistant director on this film and not only is everyone involved in this project a wonderful gem of a human, but they’re also extremely talented.

Dave Seger directed a short written by and starring Emma Koenig that is so spot on it hurts. Emma also just got a write up in the NY Times about the book she wrote based on her extremely popular blog.

Alex Richanbach directed and produced this video for Funny or Die. His feature film debut, We Are Young, is amazing and should be checked out if you have the chance to see it.

Matt Pollock directed this video for CollegeHumor.

The Looked Like Laughing collective put out a chapbook that you can pick up at Skylight Books in Los Feliz or Stories in Echo Park. Wonderful words by Alan Hanson, Mike Adams, Emma Iocovozzi, and co. Got my copy at their release party and have since been requiring that everyone read it.

Jake Hurwitz was selected as one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch in 2012.

Mike Karnell and Dave Seger directed this awesome video for Body Parts. I can be seen in soft focus throwing a football around and ruining their continuity.

Wendy McColm just rereleased episodes of a series called The Intern that she wrote and directed for Take 180.

Alan Hanson wrote an article about The Orwells for Noisey/Vice. While those guys were in town, Tony and Gabe shot 2 live videos that I was thrilled to stumble upon one afternoon.

There are so many exciting things in the works right now for all these folks and many others. This post has been sitting on my computer for awhile waiting for me to find time to throw the links in. I finished it while sitting on my roof this morning as the sun was rising and almost got goosebumps. I’m happy as hell to be in Los Angeles with these beautiful people.
